Bharti Airtel has launched its 4G services in Hisar

Bharti Airtel has rolled out its 4G services in Hisar, making it the fourth city in Haryana to welcome the speedy network. This news comes just a day after the company announced trials for its next generation services in Delhi NCR. Apart from Hisar, Airtel customers in the cities of Yamunanagar, Karnal and Ambalaslo in Haryana enjoy 4G too.

Airtel has made 4G available in Hisar only as a home-based Internet solution and does not offer the same via SIM cards, like it does in Delhi NCR. Interested folks can avail of speedy web browsing options through dongles, Wi-Fi modules and Mi-Fi. The company promises high definition video streaming with no buffering, the ability to download up to 10 standard sized movie files in half an hour and so on.

Additionally, a Wi-Fi module would enable subscribers to connect to the hotspot and surf the Internet at 4G speeds on their mobile phone, tablet or laptop. Airtel has priced the home Wi-Fi CPE (customer premise equipment) option at Rs 2500. It will be bundled with various 4G plans. Select retail stores in Hisar belonging to the mobile operator have been chosen for the launch.

Besides a home broadband setup, users can also go for Airtel’s 4G capable mobile Internet dongles. 10GB of 4G data can be purchased for Rs 995. The company first released its high speed network service in Kolkata in 2012. It is now available in Ambala, Aurangabad, Mangaluru, Chandigarh, Nagpur, Pune, Nashik, Bengaluru, Karnal, Moga, Patiala, Panchkula and other metros.

Demo zones for 4G have been set up in select stores in Hisar. Airtel is the biggest telecom service provider in India. It has its presence 20 countries in Africa and Asia. In India, it has been mixed up in a string of controversies lately, including its anti-net neutrality outlook and its involvement with a fishy ‘spy’ code which slows down the speed of 3G for its mobile customers.
