ASUS P526 and M530w PDA Devices launched in India

On November 30, Asus held a press event in Mumbai to announce the launch of two PDA devices in India. The new phones – the P526 and M530w, which have already been launched in the US, will be useful to businessmen and professionals.

Present at the launch were Benson Lin – General Manager, Asus Asia Pacific region; Andrew Tsui, Managing Director, ASUS India and Edward Wang, Business Head, Mobile Communication Business, ASUS India.

The Asus P526 PDA device features a 2.6-inch TFT display that supports 65K colors and offers a resolution of 240×320. Other good features of this PDA include a 2-mega pixel camera and a wide range of Office applications including Internet Explorer, Word, Excel, Power Point (viewer), MSN, Calendar, Organizer, Telephone Book, File Manager, Notebook, Inbox and Voice Recognition software.

The Asus P526 phone runs on Windows Mobile 6 Professional and also offers comprehensive GPS capabilities. With the integrated Smart Dial feature, users will be able to automatically pull up contacts when they start typing a first or last name.

Moreover, users will be able to use this phone as a remote presenter via Bluetooth, when conducting a presentation. Users can create and upload a mobile photo album easily with the built-in 2MP camera. One will also get a full screen preview of images clicked and also an image editor that makes editing pictures a breeze.

Another useful feature of the Asus P526 PDA is ASUS’s innovative Meeting Planner, which helps do away with the hassles of time conversion and meeting scheduling. A very unique offering with this phone is the Call Filter feature which filters calls and makes it possible for users to block unwanted callers.

    The second PDA launched by Asus in India is the M530w which features a 2.4-inch TFT display with 65K colors and 320X240 resolution. This PDA has a QWERTY keypad, allowing users to conveniently type their messages and long emails.

    Other features of the M530w PDA include a 2 mega pixel Auto-Macro camera that has the ability to capture the details of a business card. Also, with a feature called AutoSync, users can easily transfer data from the phone to a server. Moreover, if this phone happens to get lost, users will still be able to retain the account number and transfer stored data onto another phone.

    The Asus M530w PDA has support for various Mail Server system (POP3, IMAP4, Microsoft Exchange, BlackBerry4.0) If the user goes out of the country, different mail servers will not stop them from being connected and updated with work mails.

    Using the 3G Video Phone capability, users will be able to talk to anyone face to face. Plus, 3G broadband makes downloading music and videos quite a breeze. The PDA also uses wireless connections via 802.11 b/g for high speed data transfers, while the built-in Bluetooth technology seamlessly interfaces with other Bluetooth devices.

    And, if you’re harrowed with work, you can always use the Asus M530w’s built-in Windows Live Messenger or the Windows Media Player application or even any of the two brain teaser games.
