Marvell last made news in the technological space with the announcement of its world phone platform based on the Marvell PXA978 processor. Well, Asus has now chosen Marvell as a strategic partner to enrich the mobile phone segment in China with a new series of TD-SCDMA smartphones.
The Asus T10 and T20 series handsets bundle together interesting features to put forth an uplifted mobile experience. Equipped with the Marvell PXA920 platform, the newly unleashed offerings flaunt eye-catchy characteristics and entertain mobile buffs with a high-quality mobile gaming and mobile TV experience. The Marvell PXA920 platform claims to be the first commercially available single-chip solution which lends support to China Mobile’s newest version of OPhone OMS system.
Weili Dai, Marvell’s Co-Founder, quoted, “I am proud of the leading role Marvell has played in the development of the TD-SCDMA standard, and I am particularly excited to see the launch of the Asus TD smartphone with the addition of mobile gaming and mobile TV features all in one device – a true breakthrough in mobile telephone technology”.

In addition, Asus has also selected Marvell Avastar 88W8787 to provide seamless 802.11n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0 and FM connectivity as an incorporated component within the new TD-SCDMA smartphones. Further, the connectivity experience is leveraged with enhanced Wi-Fi capabilities.
