The most recent announcement from Apple reveals the release of Safari 4 public beta version for the iPhone. The Safari 4 browser boasts 30 times faster performance than IE7 and 3 times faster than firefox 3. The Safari 4 version offers a superior web browsing experience with outstanding performance.
The Safari 4 version quickly loads the HTML pages and allows users to spend more time surfing the internet and less time waiting for pages to load. Built on enhanced technologies like the Nitro, Safari 4 is capable of running JavaScripts 4.2 faster than the Safari 3 version.
The new version supports HTML 5 and CSS 3 that provides an entirely new application with superior graphics, rich features and fonts. It is also the first web browser to support advanced CSS. Besides this, the HTML 5 supports offline technologies so that information can be stored locally even without an internet connection.
“Apple created Safari to bring innovation, speed and open standards back into web browsers, and today it takes another big step forward,” adds Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing. “Safari 4 is the fastest and most efficient browser for Mac and Windows, with great integration of HTML 5 and CSS 3 web standards that enables the next generation of interactive web applications.”
Safari 4 version boasts of being the first browser to pass the Web Standards Project’s Acid3 test. It is compatible with the iPhone, iPod, Mac and Windows PCs and is built on Apple’s WebKit.
In addition to the incredible performance of Safari 4, it displays a preview of frequently visited sites. This allows users to quickly access their favorite websites with a single flick. The browser also includes various other features such as full history search, Cover Flow, full zoom capability without degrading the quality of the sites, Smart Address and Search Field.
The Safari 4 version can be downloaded free for Mac OS and Windows. There is no clarity on the new Safari 4 version’s availability and price for the iPhone.
