Apple now includes over 100,000 Apps on App Store

Apple Logo Apple has declared it now has over 1,00,000 apps, created by the developers for the App store. This store is claimed to be the largest application store in the world.

These apps are designed for different people with diverse tastes. The categories comprises of games, business, news, sports, health, reference and travel. iPhone users from over 77 countries can download these apps. It is estimated that App store users have downloaded over two billion apps, thereby making it one of the most popular application store.

Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing, commented, “The App Store, now with over 100,000 applications available, is clearly a major differentiator for millions of iPhone and iPod touch customers around the world. The iPhone SDK created the first great platform for mobile applications and our customers are loving all of the amazing apps our developers are creating.”

Apple carries on enhancing search and discovery with new attributes counting Genius for Apps, App Store Essentials selections, sub category listings and more important user appraisals. It is now pretty easy for the user to arrange and sync their apps right in iTunes and they can mechanically materialize on their iPhone with the same layout thanks to the newly launched iTunes 9.

They also include stereo Bluetooth; shake to shuffle; parental controls; automatic login at Wi-Fi hot spots and Push Notifications.

The lately released In App Purchase feature for free apps means that top developers can now offer users the option of purchasing content, subscriptions and digital services from directly within their apps.
