iPhone 6 gets a price cut in India

The 16GB version of the iPhone 6 has got a price cut in India and now costs Rs 33990 and less through online retailer Flipkart. The ecommerce company is offering buyers the chance to trade in their old devices and get up to Rs 22000 off on new smartphone. On top of that, those who make the purchase via a Citibank credit card can avail of a flat Rs 3000 discount.

It would sound tempting if the iPhone 6 wasn’t released in 2014. It just feels like a lame bargain for a handset that’s over two years old no matter the brand. Folks who still want to lay their paws on it but don’t want to spend a chunk at once can go for the EMI option. Apart from Flipkart, Amazon India too is selling the device for as low as Rs 33000.

But the seller is not extending an exchange offer or cashback on the iPhone 6. Only the 16GB space grey variant is available at the discounted rate through both Flipkart and Amazon. If there’s one thing to be said about Apple products, it’s that they always have great resale value, barring the failed iPhone SE of course.

Since the introduction of the iPhone 7 in September, Apple has taken the iPhone 6 and older models (indicating that they’re being discontinued) of the iOS series off its website. Because 16GB storage is hardly an adequate amount of memory for users these days, the latest iPhones were rolled out with the base capacity starting at 32GB.

iPhone 6 specifications list at a glance:

– Upgradeable to iOS 10
– 4.7-inch 750 x 1334p IPS touch display
– 64-bit Apple A8 chip
– 8MP iSight camera
– 1.2MP FaceTime lens
– 1GB RAM, 16GB memory, not expandable
– 1810mAh non-removable Li-Po battery
