For iPad 2 owners who think the arrival of its successor spells retirement for this second generation Apple slate, its inclusion in the company’s Reuse and Recycling program might sound tempting. The Cupertino based manufacturer is currently offering Apple Store gift cards worth up to $320 for users who decide to trade in the now outdated tablet.

Apart from the OEM’s in-house trade-in program, online retailers like eBay and Amazon are also accepting the iPad 2 for interesting deals presently. Undoubtedly, the maximum value of $320 is being offered for the iPad 2 Wi-Fi + 3G 64GB edition. On the other hand, Amazon is proposing a deal of up to $460 for the AT&T 3G version or $450 for the Verizon one.

eBay InstantSale is also ready to accept old iPad 2 units. The maximum amount it is ready to offer is not more than $325 for the 64GB AT&T one. Although these are the highest values being offered, the figures can go down if the devices do not fulfill the pre-specified conditions on the websites through which they are being listed or traded-in. The common terms take account of the power adaptor inclusion, deletion of data and settings stored by users, condition of the display, battery, overall operations and so on.

The lowest offer being made by Apple is of $205 for the 16GB Wi-Fi only variant, mentions a report by The Next Web. Apart from this, the aforesaid trade-in scheme accepts Macs, iPhones and desktops as well. Apple’s Reuse and Recycle program for iPad 2 can be accessed directly through the company’s online store.
