Even before Rovio could celebrate a week of its availability, Angry Birds Space now claims over 10 million downloads across all platforms that it has been released on. This feat is said to have been achieved within merely three days of its global release.
The game follows Rovio offerings like Angry Birds, Angry Birds Seasons and Rio. However, this is the first one to take the enraged birds into outer space. With respect to the settings, the gameplay has been modified a bit. It will now defy certain laws of gravity and the feathered creatures won’t fly in the simple projectile motion we’re familiar with.
“This is Rovio at its finest, and we are more than excited to bring Angry Birds Space to all our fans worldwide. This launch marks a huge step for us as a company, and our whole team and partners have really pulled together to bring out a fantastic array of exciting products and experiences. We hope that our fans will find all things Angry Birds Space as delightful as the Rovio family does,” conveyed Mikael Hed, CEO of Rovio on the occasion of the game’s launch.
The latest announcement was made by Rovio through its official account on Twitter. According to a report from GameSpot, the original game which was introduced in 2009, has seen the figures crossing approximately 700 million downloads till date.
Angry Birds Space with over 10 million downloads to its credit already, is available for Android as well as iOS handsets through Google Play and Apple App Store. It’s even hit PC and Mac.
