Angry Birds Space blasting off to the Red Planet this fall

Angry Birds Space

Fresh off the excitement of the Curiosity landing success, we’ve received news that Rovio is planning to release a new Red Planet update for Angry Birds Space. Seemingly, this is part of the developer’s tie-up with NASA, which had also involved the title’s official announcement from the International Space Centre, making it the first game ever to have been revealed from beyond the planet.

A trailer was released by Rovio a few days back, which grabbed the eyes of MobileSyrup. This video has been portrayed to be footage from the Mars Curiosity rover. While observing a strange puddle on the ground, the rover spots the shadow of a bird flying across its length. No particular release date for this update has been mentioned by the developer, but it has been confirmed for a fall launch.

This game was made available for iOS, Android, PC and Windows Phone earlier this year. Its initial version contained 60 levels, while extra levels were later doled out in the form of free updates. It is the third main entry to the series, with the first three being Angry Birds, Angry Birds Seasons and Angry Birds Rio. Developer Rovio recently also launched a new game titled Amazing Alex. This physics-based puzzler revolves around a curious boy with an interest in building things.

We’ll have more on the Red Planet update for Angry Birds Space when new information is out.
