Yu Yureka and Yuphoria Android 5.1 Lollipop update is almost ready to be launched

The Amazon exclusive Yu Yureka and Yuphoria smartphones are all set to be infused with a new Cyanogen software build that has been created on Android 5.1 Lollipop. Dubbed the Cyanogen OS 12.1 update, this download has been revealed to be in its testing stages, which means the release is not too far away from now.

The Micromax-owned company has gone on to announce a beta testing program for it as well. Anyone with a Yu Yureka or a Yu Yuphoria can register for this testing phase, and receive the unfinished software before everyone else.

Micromax’s co-founder Rahul Sharma has revealed that Cyanogen 12.1 OS will be seen addressing several issues found on the Yuphoria smartphone by users. These include bugs related to the proximity sensor, some keyboard improvements and enhancements in audio, dialer and thermal performance.

That’s not all though; he has also said that the handset’s entire camera stack has been redone with reworked tunings. Additionally, those who can’t wait for the Android 5.1 release to reach their devices via an OTA download, can go for the CyanogenMOD 12.1 nightlies that are available now. These builds are heavily curated by the community, and are hence bound to feature more bugs than usual.
