Few days back we had reported about the Android 1.5 update, T-Mobile has now announced that its updated version with cupcake will be available to T-Mobile G1 handsets in the US as well. This new update will integrate a host of new features with improved performance and refined user interface.

The new updated version will include animated window transitions as well as accelerometer-based application rotations. It will feature an on-screen soft keyboard which works in both portrait and landscape mode. In addition to this, the Android 1.5 offers support for user installation of 3rd party keyboards as well as user dictionary for custom words.

This Android cupcake bundles up new home screen widgets including analog clock, music player, picture frame and search. It also comes with video recording and playback capabilities supporting MPEG-4 and 3GP formats. Moreover, users can also upload videos to YouTube and images to Picasa. The most significant improvement of this new version is its support for stereo Bluetooth and auto pairing function.

Additionally, the Android 1.5 is updated with latest Webkit and Squirrelfish JavaScript engines. This new version also packs in features like copy/paste, search within a page, user-selectable-text-encoding, unified Go and Search box. It offers one touch access to contact card from call log event.

With the updated version, users can view Google Talk friend’s status in Contacts, SMS, MMS, Gmail and Email applications. Besides, users can also batch actions like archive, delete, and label on Gmail messages.

The Android 1.5 for T-Mobile G1 handsets in the US will be available by next week.
