Amazon unveils kindle application for the iPhone

kindle application Amazon has released the Kindle application for the iPhone. The application allows users to read and download any ebook from Amazon Kindle store. It will provide a vast variety of books that a user can enjoy reading it on the iPhone.

The application offers a choice to users for reading books from over 240,000 collection including the 104 of 112 of New York Times Bestsellers. The Kindle application integrates a Whispersync technology that allows users to switch back and forth between the kindle and the iPhone. Users can read a few pages and can then start off reading from where they left.

Taking complete advantage of the Apple’s multi touch user interface, the kindle application will allow users to carry their kindle books wherever they go. Moreover, you can even change the font size, bookmark pages and jump directly to a different chapter.

“We are excited to bring the new Kindle application to Apple’s App Store and think customers are going to love how easy and fun it is to read their Kindle books on the iPhone and iPod touch,” comments Ian Freed, vice president, Amazon Kindle. “Kindle for iPhone and iPod touch is a great way for customers to catch up on their current book wherever they are, like in line at the grocery store or between meetings.”

Users can also download the kindle books for free that are already purchased previously. These books are automatically backed up on Amazon.com. The application lets users to read the first chapter of any book for free before they buy.

The kindle application for the iPhone can be downloaded for free. It is available for the US market only.
