The new generation Kindle family of eReaders by Amazon is all set to retail from major stores in the U.S. from November 15. The retail stores through which the latest range of Kindles will be available include Best Buy, Target, Walmart, Staples, Sam’s Club, RadioShack and Office Depot, among many others.

The Kindle Touch comes incorporated with an ergonomic touchscreen and claims to deliver a long battery life. This eReader is integrated with the new X-Ray feature that lets users browse through all passages across a book that cite ideas, fictional characters, historical figures, places and topics which appeal to them with just one tap. The Kindle Touch 3G possesses almost all the features of its Touch counterpart except, as its name suggests, it provides readers access to 3G too.

Wendy Fritz, senior vice president of Computing at Best Buy explained, “We are excited to work with Amazon to provide consumers the opportunity to touch, test, try and buy the Kindle Fire in all Best Buy and Best Buy Mobile stores nationwide. The Kindle Fire and other new products in the Kindle family will be some of the hottest gifts this holiday season and we are delighted to offer these devices as part of our ever-expanding tablet and e-reader selection at Best Buy.”

The new generation Kindle is a more compact, portable and light version of its original self. It comes embedded with the trademark paper-like 6-inch electronic ink display and is said to be 18 percent smaller than its predecessor. The Kindle Fire tablet sports a 7-inch full color LCD touchscreen and features free cloud storage. It employs the Amazon Silk web browser and possesses Amazon’s Whispersync technology that automatically syncs users’ Kindle library, last page read, bookmarks, notes and highlights.

The Amazon Kindle, Touch, Touch 3G and Kindle Fire are currently available for pre-order online at Amazon.com and will start retailing from November 15. While the new generation Amazon Kindle and Kindle Touch are priced at $79 and $99, respectively, the Kindle Fire and Kindle Touch 3G eReaders come for prices of $199 and $149, respectively.
