Tagged with a price of $199, the predecessor garnered its fair share of attention. Operating on a dual-core Tegra 2 processor, the Kindle Fire is touted to have brought the online retailer to the second spot in the highly competitive tablet market.
The rumored successor whose name is still under wraps for now, is said to sport a 10-inch chassis. It is also speculated to be fueled by the Nvidia quad-core Tegra 3 chipset. With some upgraded specs onboard, only time can say how much of them will actually materialize.
According to a post on BGR, the bigger version of the Kindle Fire may be launched sometime in the second quarter of this year. Just a couple of days ago, DigiTimes reported that the online giant placed the initial chassis orders with Catcher Technology which is based in Taiwan.
However, tech terrain is still clueless on the exact size of the tablet. Considering the aforesaid conjectures, the production phase seems to have acquired the green signal for the new slab. Although most tech enthusiasts are already mulling over this fresh scoop, a little bit of patience would actually reveal whether a larger Amazon Kindle Fire tablet is indeed on the cards.
