Amazon Appstore to play host to HTML5 web apps

Amazon has revealed that it is now accepting HTML5 web apps created by individual coders for the Kindle Fire range of tablets and all other Android devices. These applications as well as websites optimized for mobile phones do not require any third-party software or native app development and they will be made available for users in as many as 200 countries across the globe.

The reason why the e-retailer is asking developers to forego third party software is that the company itself is providing advanced tools that are needed to create a satisfactory application. These can be found on the Amazon Web App Resources website. Apart from offering attributes like Web App Tester to check utilities, the portal helps developers detect bugs and get rid of them without hassles. And as far as monetizing is concerned, they have the option of using the in-app purchasing API for JavaScript.

Amazon HTML5 Web Apps

An all new Chromium engine-based fast web runtime has been thrown into the mix to make it easier for coders to create smooth apps like the native ones for the Kindle Fire. It is perfectly compatible with HTML5 features and tags along extensions for location sensors and storage access even when offline.

Those who already have HTML5 apps or mobile-optimized websites can head over to the Amazon Mobile App Distribution Portal. Its My Apps menu has a tab called Add New App which needs to be selected. Developers are then required to click on Add New Web App to upload their respective utilities.

Interested people can get more information regarding this new initiative of Amazon through the official developers website.
