Alltel Wireless adds Samsung Gem to its portfolio

Gem Here’s yet another Android smartphone to hit the markets. Alltel and Samsung have declared the availability of the Gem. With this device, Alltel promises to deliver premium Android experience to its users.

This Android 2.1 device offers built-in Google mobile services like Search, Maps alongside the Google user interface enables customers to integrate their Outlook, Facebook, Gmail contacts and more. Its large touchscreen offers one-touch direct-to-social site photo posting while the 3.2 megapixel camera can capture those fun-filled moments.

“Alltel Wireless is proud to add this advanced and versatile smartphone to our Android lineup,” said Scott Moody, Alltel Wireless Vice President of Products and Services. “The Samsung Gem offers our customers a premium smartphone experience at a great price. The Samsung Gem is now free after a $50 mail in rebate at Alltel Wireless.”

The Swype virtual keyboard along with easy drag and drop of the various widgets to personalize the homescreen adds to the convenience. This Wi-Fi enabled smartphone also incorporates Bluetooth wireless technology.

The Samsung Gem can be procured through Alltel Wireless for free after a mail in rebate of $50 along with a two year service agreement.
