The Alcatel Onetouch Pop 8S has been launched for the Indian market, the affordable tablet set to be sold exclusively on Flipkart for Rs 10499. The company’s flagship device is a voice-calling gadget with 4G support on a single-SIM setup.
Diving into its specs, the Alcatel Onetouch Pop 8S has an 8-inch TFT WXGA (1280 x 800p) display and runs on Android 4.4 KitKat. There’s no word from the brand yet as to whether it will get an upgrade to Lollipop in the future. The tablet is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor working in tandem with 1GB of RAM.
It packs a 4060mAh battery which Alcatel claims is supposed to deliver almost 351 hours of standby time. The device contains 8GB of inbuilt space, expandable up to 64GB via a microSD card. It houses a 5MP rear camera with LED flash and a 3MP front-facing lens for selfies and video calls. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, microUSB 2.0 and A-GPS.

The Onetouch Pop 8S is going up against other budget tablets such as the Canvas Tab P680. The Micromax device is cheaper at Rs 9499 and has similar specs except for its 16GB of ROM, Android 5.0 Lollipop OS and 3G dual-SIM support.

The Alcatel Onetouch Pop 8S will be available only in a black color model. Like we said earlier, it’s arriving in Flipkart soon and is priced at Rs 10499.
