The Alcatel One Touch Star has been unveiled and the maker has even divulged the device’s key specifications. Upon launch, the manufacturer would be offering this latest phone in three different colors.
Requiring a micro SIM, the One Touch Star will be introduced in two variants, namely the 6010 and 6010D. While the former will provide a single SIM slot, the latter will be dual SIM compatible. The maker claims that the NEG glass used to design the 4-inch AMOLED display makes it resistant to scratches and scrapes. Moreover, it has been polished with an oleophobic coating that should have users worrying less about smudges and grease stains.
Powered by a 1GHz dual core processor that is aided by 512MB of RAM, this Jelly Bean device will be housing 4GB of integrated space. But out of that amount, users will be able to hoard data worth only 2.4GB. Memory expansion of up to 32GB is possible via a microSD card. A 1500mAh battery should grant consumers a talktime of around 3.5 hours or a standby time of approximately 280 hours.
In order to capture pictures and videos, a 5MP rear camera has been drilled into place that comes bundled with features like autofocus, panorama, burst mode, face as well as smile detection and digital zoom amongst others. Further to this, a VGA snapper is embedded on the front panel to enable video conferencing.
To silence incoming calls and mute alarms, users simply have to flip the phone over. Connectivity features include compatibility with Wireless LAN, Bluetooth, GPS and HSPA. The device also comes equipped with gyro, light and proximity sensors.
Based on a report from TechNytt, Android Community states that the Alcatel One Touch Star has been spotted for a price of SEK2000 through a Swedish retailer. For prospective buyers in the US, this would translate to around $315. But then again, this is just an estimate. Release date details have not been disclosed as yet.
