It has taken Alcatel three months to announce the One Touch Idol Ultra and Idol in India ever since the smartphones saw the crack of dawn at CES 2013 and this time, the manufacturer has treated us to the price details as well. While the former has already landed on the company’s website, there is no page dedicated to the latter just yet.
Each handset boasts of features that can be counted as industry’s firsts. For instance, the Ultra with its chassis stretching as much as 6.45mm in thickness, has taken up the title of the thinnest smartphone from the 6.55mm lean ViVo X1. Armed with Android Jelly Bean, it encloses a dual core processor clocked at 1.2GHz.
Let’s now turn our attention to the other smartphone. With a weight of 110 grams, the company claims it to be the lightest of its kind. Like the aforementioned handset, this one too houses a dual core chipset, but its CPU runs at a clock speed of 1GHz. It will strike stores across the country in two variants, namely single and dual SIM.
Those opting for the model with only one SIM slot, will be provided with an internal memory of 4GB, whereas people who prefer the variant with an extra port will be able to profit from 13GB of inbuilt storage capacity. The upper side of purchasing this handset is that it will permit further expansions as opposed to its sibling mentioned above.
The company has labeled the Alcatel One Touch Idol Ultra with an MRP of Rs. 21,000, while leaving the Idol devoid of a retail tag. This is when the folks over at NDTV Gadgets step into the picture citing the latter’s retail value to be Rs. 15,800. None of the devices appear to have descended in any of the e-stores as of now.
