Airtel rolls out Rs 93 plan with 1GB data to take on Jio

Airtel’s once again trying to keep up with Reliance Jio’s onslaught of affordable packs by outing one of its own. This time round, it’s looking to rival the latter’s Rs 98 prepaid plan with its own Rs 93 one.

Opting for Airtel’s Rs 93 recharge will grant you 1GB of 3G or 4G data in all, 100 STD and local SMSes on a daily basis, unlimited local and STD calls, and free roaming. The deal is valid for 10 days and should be available to everyone.

In comparison, Reliance Jio’s Rs 98 pack gives away 2.1GB of data in total, 140 free SMSes and unlimited local, STD, and roaming calls. There’s a daily limit of 0.15GB, post which the high speed 4G data gets reduced down to 64Kbps. The plan stretches on for 14 days.

Airtel 4G

Airtel’s been keeping pretty busy these days trying to avoid losing ground to Jio. It recently announced a Rs 199 scheme which serves up 1GB of daily data, 100 SMSes, and unlimited calls for 28 days. The latter has a similar Rs 199 ‘Happy New Year 2018’ plan in place which ups the data quota to 1.2GB and keeps the validity period the same.

For heavy-duty Airtel subscribers seeking even more data, there’s a Rs 349 scheme which offers 2GB of data per day, limitless calls, and 100 SMSes for an identical 28 days. If data is not the main focus but validity is, the telecom operator has a Rs 399 plan which delivers 1GB of data per day for 56 days.
