Airtel has introduced an application called Pocket TV for its digital TV subscribers who use Android-based smartphones and very soon, the utility will hit iTunes for iOS gadgets. It basically lets you carry your digital TV in your pocket at all times.
If Airtel is to be believed, subscribers can watch over 150 live TV channels on their phones and previous episodes of shows from as many as 13 channels are also available for their entertainment. With this, it makes sure that you never miss your favorite program ever. Apart from this, the app even gives you an option to view movies and videos on either your mobile handset or tablet.
Its video library has an archive of more than 10,000 videos and the application is perfectly compatible with all network operators across India. Also, it has been designed to adjust its streaming bitrate according to the network bandwidth.
One of the many advantages is that you can filter content by genre or simply punch in the name of the channel you wish to watch. The Pocket TV application brings the program guide to your smartphone and even recommends popular videos or shows to help you discover better content.
And if this is not enough, you get favorite channels for easy access and even set program reminders so you do not miss out on your favorite shows. And as there’s Facebook integration, you get to share what you are watching with friends as well.
