Airtel outs new 70GB plan, updates Rs 349 pack to offer more data

Airtel’s updated one of its plans so that it now offers more data at the same price, staying competitive with arch rival Reliance Jio in the process. The scheme in question is the Rs 349 one which now offers 1.5GB of 3G/4G data per day.

Opting for the Rs 349 pack will also grant customers 3000 SMSes for free and unlimited local and STD calls. The validity extends to 28 days, leading to a total of 42GB during that time in all. As before, calls are limited to 250 minutes per day and 1000 minutes per week, so it’s not actually a truly unlimited plan.

If someone is on the lookout for more data and greater validity, they can choose Airtel’s new Rs 448 tariff. The bundle gives away 1GB of 3G/4G data per day, the same ‘unlimited’ local and STD calls, free-of-charge outgoing roaming calls, and 3000 SMSes. It lasts for 70 days, totaling to 70GB overall.

There’s no word on whether postpaid users will be getting similar benefits soon. Reliance Jio has similar schemes in the form of Rs 399 and Rs 459 packs. Both offer the same advantages as Airtel in addition to free access to Jio apps. The second is a bit different since its validity goes on for 84 days.
