One of the most awaited smartphones of the year, the iPhone 4S is now available for pre-order in India at the official Airtel and Aircel websites. The Apple handset is scheduled to hit shelves of Indian retail stores through the network carriers next week on November 25. The device’s official price has also been revealed by the companies.
Riding high on popularity worldwide, the next generation iPhone appears to bear a similar appearance to its predecessor, the iPhone 4. However, its features are quite different and advanced with the USP being the Siri functionality. It is basically a voice assistant which users can orally converse with to execute tasks such as calling, sending text messages, fixing schedules and other such activities.
The iPhone 4S is already selling in many countries including USA, UK, Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, Bulgaria, Hong Kong, Greece, Malta, Poland and Portugal, among others. It boasts of a 3.5-inch 960 x 640p widescreen multi-touch Retina display and features World Phone capabilities.
Powered by the new iOS 5, this smartphone is integrated with a dual-core A5 chip processor that supposedly offers faster web browsing and considerably enhanced gaming experiences. It sports an 8MP camera with a larger aperture, a custom lens and advanced hybrid infrared filter and optics as well as improved sensitivity and face detection feature. Through this camera, owners can record videos in 1080p HD and also use the front facing VGA FaceTime camera for video chatting.
The 16GB iPhone 4S price for both black and white colors is Rs. 44,500, while the 32GB version is tagged at Rs. 50,900 on both carriers. The device also comes in a 64GB version, however details regarding its price and availability have not yet been stated by Airtel and Aircel.
