Airtel’s countering Vodafone’s new Rs 199 plan with a Rs 198 plan of its own in the latest volley between the 2 telecom operators. The latter’s plan offer 1GB of data, unlimited calls, and free SMSes for 28 days.
In contrast, Airtel’s scheme gives away 1GB of 3G/4G data per day for 28 days, translating to a grand total of 28GB. Vodafone’s plan stretches out that 1GB for the entire validity period. However, it does provide free calling and SMSes. The tariff would be ideal for a customer who doesn’t require that much internet access and values the latter two more.
On the other hand, Airtel’s plan would be ideal for someone who needs a great deal of data on an everyday basis. Telecom Talk claims the scheme is only available for select subscribers in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana right now. It might spread to other circles in due course.
To check, a person can open up the ‘Best offers for you’ section in the My Airtel app. The company itself hasn’t announced the plan, but it does appear to be legitimate. In fact, the brand has another Rs 199 pack which serves up 1GB of data and unlimited calls/SMS for 28 days.
Airtel recently announced a couple of recharge packs for more heavy-duty users as well. The Rs 549 one provides unlimited SMSes, free calls, and 2.5GB of data per day. The more expensive Rs 799 one offers the same benefits, but ups the data allowance to 3.5GB per day. Both schemes last for 28 days.
