Bharti Airtel has launched new International Roaming Packs for its customers who need to make calls or use data while travelling abroad. These special packs come with internet, free calls and SMS and are valid for anything from a day up to a month.
The subscriber will not be required to change their number or SIM card when signing up for the aforesaid roaming schemes which can be used with prepaid or postpaid accounts. Calling within a foreign country and calls placed to numbers in India will be charged at Rs 3 per minute on the new plans.
International roaming post the exhaustion of these packs will cost the same. Customers can use these International Roaming packs in places like the US, Canada, the UK, Singapore, and UAE. They are categorized under two schemes on the basis of their validity. The tariff is set according to the plan for one day or 30 days.
The one day International Roaming pack will cost Rs 699 and it offers unlimited incoming calls, SMS, and 300MB internet. It is also allows 100 minutes of free calls to India. Likewise, the 30 days International Roaming pack is priced at Rs 4999 and hands out unrestricted incoming calls and messages. 400 minutes of calls to India are free on this plan.
The previously mentioned prices are for roaming plans in the US, Canada, and the UK. Similar bundles are being offered for Singapore at Rs 499 and Rs 2499. The UAE pack costs Rs 649 and Rs 3999 for one day and 30 days, respectively. However, outgoing is charged a little higher for this area.
Airtel is also thinking of launching a 10-day International Roaming pack for travelers heading out for the holiday season. The plan is likely to cost USD 45 (approximately Rs 3000). It will be available sometime in October.
