Adobe shows some love to photographers with special Creative Cloud subscription

The Adobe Creative Cloud was a controversial product from the San Jose-based software giant, but it looks in no mood to make any alterations to that. In fact, it’s introducing new plans for users of its software, helping them evaluate their options before going for the subscriptions. One such new introduction is the Photoshop Photography Program plan unveiled by Adobe yesterday. Aimed only at photographers, this subscription costs $9.99, and is equipped with tools most desired by those from the said profession.

The Creative Cloud is a subscription based model which eliminates the traditional method of distribution used by Adobe. You are no longer able to own the software, but you’ll only be renting it for a set duration. Once the period ends, you lose access to the software as well as your saved work in the cloud until you renew the subscription. The move is indeed a controversial one, since a large number of Adobe’s customers have expressed discontent towards it.

However, the newly revealed Photography Program might manage to please some of them a bit. At $9.99, it will allow access to Photoshop CC, Lightroom 5, a Behance ProSite and 20GB worth of storage space for a month. This offer is set to go live on September 17, and in case you’re wondering if it’s just an introductory offer, it’s not. Hence, the price won’t increase so long as your account is active.

Adobe made this announcement at the Photoshop World conference in Las Vegas where it is currently showcasing the power of its connected ecosystem.
