Experian Simmons The Experian Simmons 2011 mobile consumer report has found that more than thirty three million Americans employ their mobile phones for activities related to shopping. This research was mainly performed for marketers to gain insight into consumers’ habits which could play an influential role in forming mobile phone marketing techniques.

The study has discovered that twenty-nine percent of mobile phone users believed their phone will be a key device for their entertainment needs in the future. As per findings of this research, twenty percent of social networkers access their account from their phone.

“The explosion in usage of mobile technologies is an industry game-changer, and marketers need reliable insights to better understand this rapidly changing landscape. This report will help them devise plans that are timely, relevant and more effective in driving incremental sales and building brand awareness in the mobile space,” said Ken Wollenberg, general manager of Experian Simmons.

The report claims that fifty-six percent of smartphone users access the Internet via their phone and about thirty percent of iPhone owners tend to shop through their smartphones. Furthermore, nine out of ten adults, one of five kids and seven out of ten teens own a mobile phone.
