If facing up to a huge challenge is something that keeps players ticking, then its time to gear up for some scrolling action. Drakkar Dev and A-Tono have come up with Guardians: The Last Day of the Citadel for iPod, iPhone and iPad.

The title basically falls under the single player scrolling genre but introduces certain variations. The gameplay constitutes core mechanics as it is designed for new players too and not just for hardcore gamers. It is a combination of the modes of all time classics in a crisper and fluid format. The story moves forward with the characters collecting various types of objects, weapons and equipment.

“We are very proud of the job we’ve done so far and we look forward to players’ response on Guardians”,. “The game promises to be one of the most visually appealing apps released so far and we know our gameplay structure is pretty solid, so we have all the right elements to make this game a success,” commented Manlio Greco, CEO of Drakkar Dev.

“We are not new to the Apps market as we already released many titles both for iPhone and iPad, but this is our first venture on game. We definitely see Guardians as being technically one of the best title out there right now and we are making all the possible effort to make it successful. It’s a game that deserves being noticed,” added Orazio Granato, CEO of A-Tono.

Some of the key features include instinctive touch controls and good 3D graphics. The original soundtrack and engaging story ought to take the player into an altogether fantastical world. The Gauntlet feature can be used to activate magic portals. The story essentially involves following the main protagonist Loreena as she battles it out in unique and varied locations of the epic story.

Guardians: The Last Day of the Citadel is to be released in summer of 2011 and is published by A-Tono.
