Slacker Radio app for BlackBerry Storm by Verizon Wireless

Blackberry Storm Slacker Verizon Wireless has rolled out the Slacker Radio application for the BlackBerry Storm. Through this application, users can listen to their favorite tracks as well as purchase and download music.

On downloading the application, BlackBerry Storm users will see the Slacker Radio app icon on the phone’s homescreen. A free version of the currently available popular personalized radio service can be accessed with a single click through this icon. Customers can also hide or move the application icon if they don’t want it on the homescreen.

Ed Ruth, director of partner management for Verizon mentioned, “Verizon Wireless is making it even easier for customers who want to experience music on their smartphones to find Slacker Radio, then connecting them directly to V CAST Music so they can take that music with them wherever they go. This combination is great for both serious music lovers and casual fans who want to listen to music when the mood strikes them.”

By connecting to V-Cast Music, the application enables users to purchase as well as download tracks while playing them on the mobile phone. Users can indulge in several multimedia activities and music listening experience with this application which is available only in the US as of now.

By integrating with V CAST Music, Slacker listeners will now have the ability to easily purchase music as they listen to their favorite stations.”

They can enjoy listening to songs from nearly 100 expert-programmed Slacker stations, over 10,000 artist stations and a number of personalized stations. It offers features like station caching to storage memory and an intuitive interface optimized for touch operation. This interface will extend support for vertical and horizontal orientation. The ‘peek ahead’ facility will allow users to watch the preview of the next artist and album through their stations’ rotations.

Slacker Radio is a part of Email and Web for BlackBerry plans. These plans need to be added to a Nationwide voice plan and start with a price of $29.99.
