64GB Apple iPhone SE to cost Rs 49000

The Apple iPhone SE was officially announced a few weeks ago, with the company announcing the price of only the 16GB version of the phone at the time. The manufacturer has now revealed the cost of the 64GB version in the country as well.

While the 16GB Apple iPhone SE is set to cost Rs 39000, the 64GB model will retail for Rs 49000. Unfortunately, the company still hasn’t announced when exactly the handset or the new 9.7-inch iPad Pro will be up for sale here. The brand’s distribution partners have cleared this up in a press release where it stated that the phone would arrive in India on April 8.

The iPhone SE is set to hit 2500 Ingram Micro outlets and 3000 Redington India locations. There’s a lot riding on the device. Apple probably hopes the phone will be a success in developing nations like India and China where budget-conscious consumers dominate the market for the most part.

The Apple device isn’t doing that well abroad going by recent reports. Localytics claims that the device has had a lackluster opening weekend, managing to capture only 0.1% of the iPhone market. There weren’t even any long queues outside stores, a regular phenomenon for most Apple products.
