If you’re an entertainment buff looking for something affordable for your living room, then the 40″ Xiaomi Mi TV 2 will certainly grab your attention. Marked at a low price of only $320 and packed with some really good features, it is bound to make headway in the smart TV market.

The Xiaomi Mi TV 2 comes with a 1080p full HD screen. The crisp display is composed of a Sharp SDP X-GEN LED backlit panel that renders a contrast ratio of 5000:1. It has a slim frame with a thickness of only 14.5mm. The smart TV runs on a MStar 6A908 SoC processor built with a quad core Cortex A9 CPU that clocks a speed of 1.45GHz.

The gaming and TV experience is enhanced by a Mali 450 M4 GPU and the MIUI TV software based on the Android 4.4 KitKat OS. An update to Lollipop will be made available later. The Mi TV 2 holds 1.5GB RAM and 8GB storage capacity. For playback and entertainment in general, it includes a H.265 10-bit hardware decoder which supports FLV, MKV, MOV, MP4, MOV, TS and AVI video formats.

The Xiaomi smart TV has Dolby MS12 virtual surround sound technology for audio clarity. It can be purchased in a variety of vibrantly colored rear casings that add to its aesthetic value. If you remember, the company launched a more advanced Android-based smart TV with a 49″ panel of 4K resolution at a modest rate of $645 only last year.
