Those who were volubly skeptical about the Android OS making waves when it was unveiled by Google may have been busy eating their words. Cincinnati Bell is now offering the 3G Android Blaze smartphone with their 3G service. That’s yet another offering for Android fans to consider.

It runs the Android OS 1.6 a.k.a Donut and shows off a 3.2” 320 x 480p capacitive HVGA LCM display. Pictures can be snapped with its 5MP camera that has LED flash and records content MPEG4 or H.264 formats. The phone comes with 512MB Flash memory, 256MB RAM, support for 32GB storage and a 2GB microSD card.

The Blaze features Android Webkit 0.1.0 browser support, 802.11b/g connectivity and GPS. Users may also access POP3m IMAP4, Fuse, ZoomTown e-mail, SMTP and Gmail on this handset. With Information Alerts, owners can choose to receive updates on various subjects via text messages at any time of the day.

A 1230mAh Li-on battery powers the device for up to 9.8 hours of talk time and around 250 hours of standby time. It’s Bluetooth capabilities include v2.1 EDR with A2DP, AVRCP as also EDR, while quad-band and 3G network support spans over GSM 850/900/1800/1900MHz and 1700/2100MHz 3G/UMTS bands, respectively.

There’s an in-built speakerphone that supports the smartphone’s audio functions. Alternately, owners can use the supplied 3.5mm headset to enjoy multimedia content. Apart from the headset and 2GB microSD card, a USB data cable, user guide, SIM card, battery and wall charger are shipped with the device.

Cincinnati Bell is extending the 3G Android Blaze for $99.99 on a two-year equipment agreement, while it can be grabbed for $199.99 without the agreement.
