OnePlus X to be offered invite-free via Ola

The OnePlus X may not be going on open sale in India, but it will be available without an invite for 1 day via a tie-up with Ola Cabs. The new initiative is happening on December 8 and taking place in Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, Pune, Kolkata, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Ahmedabad.

To participate, a person has to open the Ola app between 10 am and 7 pm, select the OnePlus X icon, choose Ride Now and confirm the transaction. A taxi with a OnePlus executive is supposed to arrive at their location. Individuals can either choose to pay by cash or card. Note that only 1 device will be sold per user.

OnePlus recently announced it was hosting a 3-day open sale for the OnePlus X from December 5 to 7. Sadly, this offer wasn’t applicable in India. A representative of the China-based brand clarified the manufacturer had plans to have one in the future but did not give out any more details.

The OnePlus X is the company’s 1st Made in India phone. Local production of the smartphone began here in November. At the phone’s launch, the handset maker said it would sell the model under the invite system for the month of November, after which it would hold weekly open sales.
