Panasonic Eluga Mark with fingerprint scanner, 4G support launched at Rs 11990

The Panasonic Eluga Mark has been launched in India and is set to be available through both offline and online retailers. The device has been slapped with a Rs 11990 price tag and comes with various enhanced IT security features.

The USP of the Panasonic Eluga Mark is its fingerprint sensor, found on the rear surface of the device. It can store up to 8 different fingerprints at a time. The phone additionally ships with Android for Work tools such as BYOD (bring your own device), which allows personal devices to function within a secure business network.

Taking a closer look at its other specs, the 4G-ready Panasonic device runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop with a layer of the brand’s own FitHome UI. It carries a 5.5-inch IPS 720p screen. Under the hood, it’s fueled by a 1.5GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor. On the memory front, it packs 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal space.

Users of the Eluga Mark can expand its memory capacity up to 32GB via a microSD card slot. The smartphone houses a 13MP main camera with LED flash. Selfies can be taken through a 5MP front-facing snapper. It comes with a 2500mAh battery and supports Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, microUSB 2.0, USB OTG, Bluetooth and A-GPS.

Once again, the Panasonic Eluga Mark is out now for Rs 11990. The company said it has launched 16 phones in 2015 so far and plans to announce a few more before the year is out. It also intends to focus on Make in India and the production of 4G phones in 2016.
