Flipkart has announced a special ‘The Big Phone Theory’ sale for handsets, in line with US-based Black Friday sales which take place during the Thanksgiving season. The deals will be in place only from November 26 to 27.
In a press release, Flipkart said it is vending smartphones from brands such as Lenovo, Motorola, Samsung, Asus and Micromax with major discounts and exchange offers under The Big Phone Theory sale. Select devices can be bought for up to Rs 20000 cheaper now. All the offers can only be availed through the Flipkart app.
Some of the directly discounted models coming under the The Big Phone Theory event include phones such as the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, now priced at Rs 19999 instead of Rs 21999, and the Galaxy S Duos 3 at Rs 3999 as opposed to Rs 4999. There’s also the Micromax Canvas Xpress 2 for Rs 5799, down from Rs 6199.
Furthermore, the Asus ZenFone 2 Laser retails for Rs 9499, reduced from Rs 9999, and the ZenFone 2 4GB RAM is now at Rs 14999 from Rs 17999. There’s also an additional 5% off when buying a phone above Rs 3000 through any bank’s card or net banking facility. Flipkart claims that all discounts from banks will be delivered instantly.

This is a significant change from the typical 60 to 90 days of waiting for cashbacks that customers usually have to go through. The e-commerce brand recently launched a hybrid webapp site dubbed Flipkart Lite. The mobile website can be accessed through a browser and offers an app-like experience with tools like notifications and offline shopping.
