Microsoft Lumia 950, Lumia 950 XL may launch in India on November 30

The Microsoft Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL may be landing in India on November 30, just over a month after the flagship phones were announced internationally. The brand is hosting an event in New Delhi on that date but hasn’t confirmed what it’s planning to unveil during the occasion.

The Microsoft Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL were expected to arrive in India by December. The company’s CEO Satya Nadella had said as much during the Future Unleashed event which was held earlier this month. The earlier date is a welcome surprise given the tech giant’s track record of delaying the release of its devices in the country.

The news of the event comes via Windows Central, which states that formal invites have not been issued yet. The site speculates that Microsoft may also introduce its Display Dock accessory in India at the same occasion. The tiny gadget enables the new Lumia smartphones to turn into a fully-functioning portable Windows 10 PC.

The Display Dock has been decked out with 3 USB slots, an HDMI port, a DisplayPort and a USB Type-C slot to connect the Microsoft devices. Users will be able to plug in external accessories like a monitor, keyboard and mouse. The manufacturer is yet to comment on the cost or availability for any of its products.
