Motorola honors 60 years of its batwing logo by introducing #MyMotoLogo contest

Adding to our list of failed guesses is Motorola’s latest plan for the Moto X which does not involve its customization program, but a My Moto Logo contest instead. The Lenovo-owned company had been teasing fans for days on Twitter, dropping hints about creativity and what not. Many naturally thought that Motorola was getting ready to roll out its Moto Maker for India which would let users design their device before buying it.

Well, it turns out that Motorola merely intends to celebrate the 60th anniversary of its batwing logo (unveiled on June 19, 1955) by launching the My Moto Logo contest. Fans can submit design ideas and the winning one will be awarded a Moto X smartphone embedded with the logo they created. The company plans to give away 6 of these handsets for 6 of the most creative drawings.

If you check out Motorola India’s Twitter stream, it is already afire with submissions from all over the country. Four unnamed judges will be sitting on the panel that decides the winners of the contest. Apart from the top designs earning the Moto X, 50 others will also be picked to receive coffee mugs and T-shirts with the logos submitted emblazoned across the prizes.
