An unannounced Micromax Canvas Fire 3 A096 has quietly rolled into the company’s official product listings, apart from hitting an online retailer for Rs 6499. The smartphone seems to be readily available to interested parties since the delivery date for it is marked for this week itself. Well, Micromax usually saves its breath only for major product launches such as its first 4G LTE handset which was unveiled last week.
The front of the Micromax Canvas Fire 3 A096 features a dual speaker design reminiscent of HTC’s creations, and a 4.5-inch 960 x 540p screen with IPS technology and Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Its body is finished in a metallic texture and the overall look may be borrowed, but it’s not too bad. The device is powered by a quad core MediaTek MT6582M processor clocked at 1.3GHz and 1GB of RAM.
The Canvas Fire 3 offers 8GB of internal memory out of which about 5GB is available to users. In case they fall short of storage, there’s the option to slide a microSD card of 32GB into the provided slot. It’s a pity Micromax didn’t pack Android Lollipop into the smartphone and decided to go with KitKat 4.4.2 instead. But let’s hope it does beam an update to the latest version of the OS soon enough.

The camera on the back panel of the Canvas Fire 3 is of 5MP resolution and it is supported by an LED flash unit. The front-facing lens is a 2MP one with fixed focus, and it comes with flash too. A 1850mAh battery keeps it going between charges and it claims to deliver up to 7 hours of talk time (network not mentioned). A whole bunch of applications comes pre-loaded onto this 3G-capable phone.
