Unboxed OnePlus One units to go on sale on May 20 at Rs 16999

Following Xioami’s footsteps, the maker of the OnePlus One will be offering unboxed units of its smartphone at a discounted price. Come May 20, you’ll be able to purchase the 64GB model for just Rs 16999 which is Rs 5000 lesser than what you’d have to pay for the retail version.

So what’s the difference between the unboxed and retail OnePlus One? Well, the former is units which have been opened and not used. So they’re basically fully functional and undamaged just like what you’d get from the latter, sans the sealed packaging.

You’ll also get warranty on unboxed units, but OnePlus is offering only 6 months instead of the full 1-year period. For the amount you’ll be paying, this is certainly a great deal. The company has partnered with Overcart to offer these units and registrations for the first sale have already commenced. The phone will be offered through the flash sale method on a first-come first-serve basis.
