Sony’s new selfie phone Xperia C4 offers a 5MP front camera and a flash

After months of leaks, the Sony Xperia C4 smartphone has been given an official launch by the company, but without much fanfare. If fact, we really didn’t expect a big reveal as the OEM’s Xperia Z4 flagship also got a quiet release in Japan last month.

The Sony Xperia C4 is being touted as the company’s next generation selfie phone and it has the necessary hardware to honor this title. Like its predecessor, this handset packs a 5MP shooter on the front with a wide-angle lens. And the company has even included an LED flash.

The main camera hasn’t seen an improvement as it continues to offer a 13MP sensor. However, the core hardware has been beefed up. This Sony smartphone now packs a 5.5-inch 1080p IPS LCD display and it draws power from a 1.7GHz octa core MediaTek processor with 64-bit support. Additionally, the phone runs Android Lollipop and comes in single and dual SIM options with HSPA+ 3G support.
