The Micromax Canvas Spark smartphone is the Indian OEM’s answer to the super affordable mid-range releases from Chinese companies in the country. More teaser images have started popping up for the device in question, revealing new features and what we can expect in the next few days.
The OEM’s Twitter feed is filled with teasers which clearly indicate that the Micromax Canvas Spark will come with Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box. Another image (see below) shows the handset’s front panel and hints at a high quality display being onboard. Seeing as the phone will be a lower mid-range release, we’re not expecting anything higher than a 720p HD IPS LCD touchscreen.
A previous report revealed that the screen will span between 4.3 to 5 inches. The Micromax handset is pretty basic where design is concerned and what worries us is that the teaser image doesn’t show any front-facing camera onboard. The render is for press purposes and it probably doesn’t showcase the final design.

Also, there’s a good chance that the above image is not of the real phone and just a mockup. But we’ll have to wait a few more days to know for sure. What we also know is that the device will be powered by a quad core processor of unknown make. Seeing as the Canvas Spark is going up against the Redmi 2, we’d expect a 64-bit SOC at least. The best choice here would be the Snapdragon 410 or the MediaTek MT6732.
The Micromax Canvas Spark smartphone will go on sale exclusively through Snapdeal carrying a price tag of under Rs 6000. What we can also confirm is that the company will be offering it through weekly flash sales.
