Lenovo A6000 Plus launched at Rs 7499, coming on April 28

A few days back we reported about the new Lenovo A6000 Plus smartphone making its way into India soon. Well, the company has officially launched the handset now and has also disclosed a price and release date. The phone will be tagged at Rs 7499 and be made available from April 28 onwards.

The Lenovo A6000 Plus is basically an upgraded version of the popular A6000 smartphone. The new option isn’t all that beefier as it employs the same core hardware. What’s changed here is that the memory has doubled with the RAM now at 2GB and the internal storage at 16GB. And that’s everything new on the latest variant.

The Lenovo phone looks no different compared to the original and it also continues to offer 4G LTE connectivity with support for FDD and TDD bands. The downside here is that KitKat still runs the show, but Lollipop could be coming soon in the next few months. Another highlight of the handset is its dual Dolby Digital Plus stereo speaker setup for a rich multimedia experience.

Here’s a roundup of the main Lenovo A6000 Plus specifications:

– 5-inch 720p HD IPS touchscreen
– 1.2GHz quad core processor (64-bit Snapdragon 410)
– 2GB RAM, 16GB expandable storage
– 4G LTE
– Android 4.4 KitKat
– 2300mAh battery
– 2MP front camera, 8MP rear imager

While the extra memory is great on the A6000 Plus, its retail tag is a bit too high. It makes more sense picking up the A7000 smartphone for a little extra cash as it packs better hardware like a 5.5-inch HD display, a 64-bit octa core processor, Mali T760MP2 graphics and a 2900mAh. There’s also Android 5.0 Lollipop which comes out of the box.
