A new smartphone under the name of Xiaomi Mi 4i has popped up online and quite a bit of details about it have also made it out to the open. While it’s great news that the company is working on a new version of the Mi 4, the branding of the leaked device suggest that it could very well be the handset the OEM plans to unveil at its global Mi phone premiere next week.
The event is scheduled to take place in India and it carries the punch line ‘i is coming,’ which is clearly pointing to the Xiaomi Mi 4i. Another mystery which has been solved is that the device in question is what the previously leaked Ferrari smartphone will be officially called. Chinese website MyDrivers managed to spot the branding on GeekBench and the Singapore IDA database.
The Xiaomi phone was previously spotted under the codename Ferrari at GFXBench where hardware details were also revealed. The handset is said to carry a 4.9 or 5-inch display with full HD 1080p visuals. And the processor of choice here is an octa core 64-bit 1.5GHz Snapdragon 615 instead of the beefy Snapdragon 801.

Additionally, the handset will come with Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box with the MIUI 6 UX layered on top. Where design is concerned, we have no clue as to what the Xiaomi smartphone will look like. There’s a high possibility that it will be identical to the original Mi 4 or even with small modifications.
