Now pay much lesser for roaming from May 1 onwards!

We’ve got some good news for those who travel to places all over India a lot, even as a twenty three percent slash in national roaming call rates is all set to come into effect from May 1 onwards. This is due to the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India’s new decision to reduce the tariff ceilings.

Starting next month, mobile calls while in roaming will start being cheaper by up to a good twenty three percent, whereas sending local SMS’ will be more economical as well, under the new guidelines. A single SMS will now cost Rs 0.25 which is a seventy five percent dip from the present price of Re 1.

In addition, the national SMS rate has been brought down to Rs 0.38 from the old Rs 1.5 per SMS. Furthermore, as far as incoming calls on national roaming are concerned, customers will have to pay a maximum of Rs 0.45 per minute instead of Rs. 0.75 which they are paying right now.
