The 128GB versions of the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge may have been discontinued in India and the Netherlands just months after being launched in April this year. The official website doesn’t have the variant listed for either of the devices, though they’re still available in 32GB and 64GB options.
The Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge were at the receiving end of some price cuts in the months since their release. The manufacturer had launched three versions of the device since they came without microSD card support. If the largest variant has been pulled, it indicates people would rather buy a cheaper device than one with a lot of memory that’ll mostly be unused.
No official reason has been given for the move yet. According to MakTechBlog, one possible explanation could be that the 128GB Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge were selling poorly. This is plausible since they were attached with hefty price tags of Rs 61900 and Rs 70900, respectively. The phones can still be bought in countries such as the UK and Australia, but it’s possible they too will be discontinued.

To recall, the flagship Galaxy S6 has a 5.1-inch quad HD super AMOLED (2560 x 1440p) display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4. It’s encased in a metal body with a non-removable 2550mAh battery featuring fast charging technology. The S6 Edge differs only slightly with a curved screen and a 2600mAh battery, and offers the option of Green Emerald color variant which was launched last month.
The dual-SIM Samsung smartphones run on a 64-bit 2.1GHz octa-core Exynos 7 processor along with 3GB of RAM. Their camera capabilities include a 16MP main lens and a 5MP front snapper. The handsets have a fingerprint sensor and contain Android Lollipop 5.1.1. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, A-GPS, GLONASS and microUSB 2.0.
