The Lava Iris X1 Grand comes pre-installed with the Android 4.4 KitKat OS out of the box, but its maker has kept its promise, and has released the 5.0 Lollipop update for it. The OTA download is live now, and can be grabbed by all those who own the device.
The Lava Iris X1 Grand happens to be the first phone from the manufacturer to receive this software update. It brings with it a host of distinct features that were introduced by Google through the latest build. These include better battery utilization, a more user-friendly notification centre and more.
The Iris X1 Grand was released in January with a 5-inch 854 x 480 pixel display. Inside it is a 1.3GHz quad core processor which is assisted by a 1GB RAM module. The camera department is handled by an 8MP rear snapper and a 2MP front-facing unit.
