The all new Intex Aqua Desire has popped into the scene for a price of Rs 5560, which clearly means it’s a low end device intended for those migrating from feature phones or in need of a backup handset. This comes on the back of so many Intex launches since January, the company seems to be going for numbers over quality.
Last month alone, Intex unveiled the Aqua V2 for Rs 3090, the Aqua 4.5E for Rs 4060 and the Aqua Q1 pegged at Rs 4930. And then there were the Aqua Eco and the Aqua Y3 for Rs 3650 and Rs 4490, respectively. The Aqua Desire does slightly better than the aforementioned phones in terms of specs, which is why it costs a bit more.
Don’t get us wrong – affordable technology that helps everyone connect to the digital world is great for progress. But wouldn’t it be nice if companies like Intex worked on making a few really good handsets instead of hoping that throwing enough mud on the wall means some will stick? On paper, the Aqua Desire has decent enough features to please undemanding users.

The Aqua Desire has got a 4.7-inch display, a 1.2GHz dual core chip from MediaTek and somewhat insufficient RAM of 512MB. Its back panel is given to an 8MP camera, while the spot above the screen embeds a 2MP webcam. Out of 4GB of internal memory, less than 2GB is available to users. So the microSD card slot slipped in by Intex, should be of great use to hoarders.
