Micromax Canvas Hue unveiled, promises a good 30 days of battery life

The slick new Micromax Canvas Hue AQ5000 is a monster when it comes to battery life, if the company’s word is to be taken for all it’s worth. The phone has a power saving mode to limit its use to important messages and calls.

When you switch on this special mode, the Micromax Canvas Hue takes on a monochrome color scheme and adjusts the brightness as well as sleep settings, apart from sweeping away unnecessary background apps. So technically, you can squeeze about 30 days of usage out of the device.

Micromax plans to offer this new Canvas phone in two options of white and gold. It features a 5-inch AMOLED display protected from bumps and scratches with Corning’s Gorilla Glass. A quad core processor clocked at 1.3GHz, 1GB of RAM and Android KitKat power it, aside from the 3000mAh battery, of course.

You can look forward to 32GB of microSD card support to make up for the 8GB of memory provided with the Canvas Hue. Flip the smartphone onto its front and you’ll find an 8MP camera with a Sony sensor, LED flash and auto focus. Hiding a couple of SIM card slots under the hood, it flaunts a 2MP front-facing lens too.
