Confirmed: LG G Flex 2 bendy smartphone to be unveiled at CES 2015

The LG G Flex 2 ‘bendy smartphone’ is set to arrive at the CES 2015 this week, as promotional material and a tweet from Qualcomm have most certainly confirmed its unveiling at the event. The most exciting feature of the device apart from its flexibility is the processor it will be embedding.

The LG G Flex 2 will be the first handset to integrate the Snapdragon 810 chip which consists of four Cortex-A53 cores and four Cortex-A57 cores. Sporting 64-bit architecture, it will support Category 6 LTE for enabling data speeds of up to 400Mbps. The new Galaxy Note 4 variant was expected to use the SoC until recently.

Although the G Flex landed with a 6-inch 720p touchscreen, the new smartphone is speculated to have a 5.5-inch full HD panel. It may even have more RAM of 3GB, but stick to the original internal memory capacity amounting to 32GB. A better front camera of 5MP resolution is likely to find its way onto the device, with or without flash.

The highlight of the LG phone will of course, be its flexibility and self-healing back panel. But bendy bodies didn’t really take off as a trend last year even though Samsung joined the party too. The specs of the G Flex 2 come courtesy of Phone Probe’s sources, while the promo images from the CES 2015 arena were posted by The Verge.
