Xiaomi Redmi 1S goes on sale via Flipkart today, this could be its last

Now that the sales ban is lifted from the Xiaomi Redmi 1S in India, the smartphone is all set to go on sale once again through Flipkart for Rs 5999. The handset will be available for purchase at exactly 2pm and the e-commerce website will be accepting registrations till midnight today.

The Xiaomi Redmi 1S has been selling quite well in India and it could soon be scrapped. Tomorrow’s flash sale will probably be the last before the handset gets discontinued and what’s interesting is that Flipkart hasn’t revealed how many units will be up for grabs.

This could mean that the company is clearing out all remaining stock or it simply doesn’t want to disclose the actual count of inventory. What’s more, we could see a successor to the 1S arrive early next year as rumors and leaks on a Redmi 2S have started popping up online. The phone has already been certified in China and it is expected to be quite similar to the current release, but with a 64-bit processor from Qualcomm.

The Redmi Note which also went on sale earlier this month was affected by the ban. And while the Redmi 1S is hitting the market again, there’s no word on when the phablet will go on sale. Xiaomi has noted that more info will be available in the coming weeks.
